| Amazon Tree Boas are generally categorized
in two main types; the "Garden Phase" and
"Colored Phase"
Garden Phase: any of the non-colored specimens, usually gray,
brown, black, or a combination of these colors.
Colored: These can be red, yellow, orange, and just about any
shade/combination of these colors, with or without pattern.
Halloween Phase: this is something that really
irritates me.... the ones labeled Halloween phase are garden
phase with red/orange pattern on the backs, these sell for about
triple the price of a normal garden phase (which has
tan/cream/off-white pattern on their backs)....what people never
tell their buyers is that the red/orange pattern on the Halloweens
will change into the normal tan/cream/off-white and the
owner ends up with a normal garden phase.

Morphs & Aberrancies
Striped aka Tiger; this is a co-dominant
morph proven by Danny Mendez (urbanjungles.com)
The original "Tiger" was a wild caught import
originally purchased and later bred by Danny.

Paradox; there have been numerous Paradox ATBs
imported from the wild and also born in captivity from normal
looking parents. When the original Paradox was imported, this
was thought to be a one of a kind freak. In the years that
followed, Paradoxes started showing up periodically in shipments
from Guyana. Could this be a naturally occurring phase in the
wild that is much more common than we realize? I think this is
entirely possible since the species is only collected for
exportation from a very very small portion of their natural
range. This is, as of yet, an unproven trait so it's considered
an aberrancy. I'm not sure if anyone has ever bred a
paradox-to-paradox pairing, this would be the only way to truly
prove out the inheritability of this trait.
